Which beaches do you dream of visiting in 2022?

Which beaches do you dream of visiting in 2022?

With warmer weather, longer hours of daylight and a little more sunshine, it’s no wonder we are dreaming of being by the sea. There’s even scientific research to prove that being in ‘blue spaces’ makes us feel good. The perfect destination for your holiday then!

Which beaches do you dream of visiting in 2022? How about the white sands and turquoise waters (yes, really!) of Scotland’s west coast? Or perhaps an adventure to the rugged coastlines of Shetland. Or hop on a plane to Croatia and soak in the sun along the Adriatic coast at Dubrovnik. Have a look at these stunning options and contact us to turn your beach dreams 2022 into reality!

Luskentyre – Harris, Scotland

This incredible beach is a perfect stop off on our Self-Guided Cycle Tour of the Hebridean Way. With miles of white sand and gorgeous turquoise water, it’s hard to beat. You certainly won’t forget it in a hurry. There are so many other beautiful beaches along the Hebridean Way. Lonely Planet ranked West Beach on Berneray the number 3 best beach in Europe. The vast Uig bay is also definitely worth a look – you can even ride your bike across the sand in the right conditions! We’d love to hear which Hebridean beach is your favourite!

Achmelvich, Scottish Highlands

On our fantastic North Coast 500 self-drive tour of the northern Scottish Highlands, there are many wonderful beaches to visit. There’s the long sandy wonder of Oldshoremore on the west coast as well as the north coast delights of Balnakeil Bay, Sangobeg and Ceannabeinne, to name but a few. One of the best beaches has to be the lovely Achmelvich on the west coast near Lochinver.  Breathtakingly beautiful, it’s an amazing spot for watersports and bird-watching. Scotland’s long summer evenings are perfect for an evening picnic from Lochinver Larder while you look for porpoises or dolphins – bliss!

Shetland

Our self-guided trip of the Shetland Isles in the North Sea brings you to dramatic coastlines, rugged landscapes and some simply sublime beaches. For a good chance of seal-spotting, try Rerwick Beach on the west coast of Shetland’s south Mainland. Further up the coast you can’t miss this beautiful tombolo to St Ninian’s Isle – truly the stuff beach dreams are made of!

Shetland boasts almost 1700 miles of spectacular coastline, so you will find many other beach gems during your trip. Furthermost north is Norwick Beach on Unst, a picturesque spot with white sand, pebbles and wild flowers. It’s also a fascinating place for those interested in geology. There’s an ophiolite, where a section of the oceanic crust collided with an ancient continent and was pushed up onto this spot over 420 million years ago.

Dubrovnik, Croatia

Sometimes we just need a little more heat at the beach! Hop on a flight to the beautiful Adriatic Coast, where Dubrovnik’s beaches will not disappoint. There are many beaches to match every taste here. Sandy with clear water, pebbly and rocky, party beach bars, superb swimming spots, water sports, and more. Sea, sun, sand and exploration await! Contact us to find out more about Croatia’s glorious beaches.
