Day 1
Leave the Ugandan capital of Kampala and drive to Fort Portal, a lovely town resting in the shadow of the fabled Mountains of the Moon, and famous for its tea plantations. Enjoy a packed lunch along the way as you pass the Crater Lakes region on your way to the secluded Lodge at Kibale Forest National Park.

Day 2
Start the day with some sensational chimpanzee tracking in the heart of the Kibale Forest. The reserve boasts the greatest variety and highest concentration of primates in East Africa, providing sightings of wild chimpanzees, red-tailed monkeys and the black-and-white colobus monkeys on your guided nature walk. After a hearty lunch, transfer to Rweteera to visit a local community initiative – the Rweteera Wetland Walk. Be on the lookout for primates and the rare great blue turaco, one of the 100 bird species found in the swamp area.

Day 3
Transfer to the beautiful Queen Elizabeth National Park for some wildlife viewing, including sightings of warthog, elephant, buffalo and waterbuck. Enjoy the rest of the day relaxing on your private veranda at Lodge viewing some of the incredible birdlife.

Day 4
Wake up early for an exciting morning game drive through the Queen Elizabeth National Park. Along the way, you’ll visit the mating ground of the Ugandan kob antelope. Scout the bush for lion, elephant, buffalo and other wildlife including the topi and bushpig, before returning for a relaxing leisurely lunch at camp.
In the afternoon, enjoy a boat cruise on the Kazinga Channel. Be entertained by the hippos lazing on the bank and be sure to keep your eyes peeled for elephants and buffalo along the shoreline.

Day 5
After breakfast, travel to the south of the Queen Elizabeth National Park for a short game drive. Search the region known as Ishasha for its famous tree-climbing lions, an unusual characteristic among these big cats. Continue through traditional villages, with their homesteads dotted on the hills of the countryside, as you travel to the Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park.
Spend the afternoon stretching your legs as you set out from Lodge on a scenic forest walk in the Bwindi Forest.

Day 6
Today you trek through the dense rainforest of the Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park in your quest to find the majestic mountain gorillas. Trekking gorillas can sometimes involve walking for long periods through often muddy conditions.
The reward, however, is well worth the effort as you spend up to an hour watching these primates in their natural environment.

Day 7
Today you leave the forests of Bwindi behind and make your way back through the country villages and rolling hills to Entebbe. Keep an eye out for zebra, impala and other plains game as you pass through Lake Mburo National Park, on your way to the Equator.
You’ll enjoy lunch en route before continuing onto Entebbe/Kampala where you spend the night at the hotel depending on your flight schedule. Head out to experience the vibrant nightlife of this Ugandan city.

Day 8
Enjoy breakfast before transferring to the Entebbe Airport for your international departure flight.
