Don’t try to ‘do Canada’, you can’t, Canada is a place that has so powerful an impact that you almost have to sit back and let it ‘do you’!
Canada is more than its massive mountain ranges, and it’s beautiful craggy-coastline Canada also rocks relaxed culture, cooks extraordinary meals and rolls out wild, moose-spotting road trips and so much more.
The country is big, take Vancouver Island, which takes six hours to drive from one end to the other. That’s just one island, but it’s as big as Austria and only an hour and a half away from Vancouver city itself. This sums up Canada rather neatly – wilderness is always just a heartbeat away. On this one island, you can hike for days, see grizzly bears, cycle a plethora of mountain paths, snowshoe to a log cabin, go kayaking with orca whales as and visit First Nation (native) communities. Vancouver though is just like a microcosm of the rest of Canada, where the wilderness stretches on forever, making Canada the second largest populated country in the world. The majority of Canada’s population lives within 200km of the border with the USA, leaving the rest of the country – the Rocky Mountains, the interior plains, Arctic tundra and sea coast magnificence wild at heart and wide open.
