Later on enjoy a welcome reunion dinner Overnight Inverness             DAY 2 - Visit to Fort George and Cawdor - Sept 20 Today we will enjoy a visit to Fort George, is a large 18th-century fortress near Ardersier, followed by a trip to Cawdor Castle, the romantic Highland castle, the 14th century home of the Thanes of Cawdor. Overnight Inverenss             DAY 3 - Journey to the Isle of Lewis - Sept 21 Depart Inverness and start your journey to the Outer Hebrides. On route we will stop at the beautiful Corrishalloch Gorge.   A spectacularly deep, mile long box canyon through which the River Droma descends towards Loch Broom, en route forming the 150ft high Falls of Measach.  Ferry from Ullapool to Stornoway. Overnight Stornoway               DAY 4 - Tour of the Isle of Lewis - Sept 22 Today we will learn more about the islands inspirational history and heritage. The island's land based lifestyle is best seen at the Arnol Blackhouse. This traditional Lewis thatched house is fully furnished, complete with an attached barn, byre and stackyard.      Built around 1880, No.42 Arnol gives a special insight into island life. This blackhouse was once the residence of a Hebridean crafting family and their animals, who moved out in 1966, and today it is preserved almost as the family left it. Explore the port of Ness. Afternoon at leisure Later in the evening visit the Callanish standing stones, the Standing Stones of Callanish are one of the most important prehistoric sites in the UK, with the 5,000 year old central circle and avenues of impressive upstanding gneiss being the most iconic image of the Isle of Lewis.           DAY 5 - Tour of Harris - Sept 23 Exploring the rich history of the Isle of Harris Highlights Today we travel head south through the Isle of Lewis to explore the wonderful Isle of Harris. The drive south along the western coastline of the Isle of Harris is truly stunning. Arriving at Rodel we visit the beautiful medieval St Clements church, home to one of Scotland's most remarkable 16th century tombs - that of Alexander Macleod, chief of the Clan Macleod. Heading back north towards Tarbert we visit and explore one of the most breath-taking beaches in the Hebrides - Luskentyre. If one single spot encompasses the beauty of the Outer Hebrides, then Luskentyre is that place! Later we will visit the Harris Gin Distillery and the Harris Tweed Shop Overnight

Join your fellow Pod Abroad 2019 Alumni for this special 2020 Alumni Tour 2nd October 2020 - 9th October 2020 Visit either Glenshee, Dundee or St Andrews (the choice is yours) and the Island of Iona plus a journey on the Jacobite Steam Train all on this 2020 special Alumni departure. Please note that the castles we will visit on this tour have winding narrow staircases and as they are historic buildings do not have elevators.  If you are not fully mobile, you may not be able to do some of the visits on this tour.   Day 1 - 2nd October Arrive Edinburgh and Transfer to Pitlochry                                           (-/-/D) Arrive in Edinburgh and transfer to Pitlochry (please note there will only be one transfer on this day so please co-ordinate your flights to arrive at same time, otherwise you could have a long wait) Arrive Pitlochry, check into Westlands Hotel, where you will stay for the next three nights on a B & B basis.
